Privacy Policy

In this version of DEDOC, your account, health records, appointments, reminders, consultation requests, support tickets, and saved conversations are stored only in your browser's local storage, on your own device. They are not uploaded to, or stored on, any DEDOC server or database. If you clear your browser data, switch devices, or uninstall the app, this information is permanently lost — there is no server-side backup to restore it from.

• The text of messages you send to the AI Health Assistant, and relevant context from your health record (age, sex, known conditions, allergies, current medications) if you have completed those fields — sent to whichever AI provider (Google Gemini or DeepSeek) is currently answering, solely to generate that reply.
• Health education article text, when you request a translation, sent to the same AI provider chain to be translated.
• Your approximate location (latitude/longitude), only if you grant location permission on the Health Facilities page, used solely to sort facilities by distance and never stored or transmitted elsewhere.

Google and DeepSeek process this data under their own respective privacy policies as independent data processors. DEDOC does not control, and is not responsible for, how they handle data beyond generating the requested response.

Voice input and output run through your browser's built-in Web Speech APIs. Depending on your browser and device, speech-to-text processing may happen locally or may be sent to your browser vendor's speech recognition service (for example, Google's, on Chrome). DEDOC does not record, store, or have access to raw audio — only the transcribed text your browser returns.

• Export your full health record at any time from the Health Records module.
• Delete your account and all locally stored data at any time from Account & Settings — this is immediate and irreversible.
• Opt in or out of anonymous research contribution under Account & Settings → Privacy & Security (currently a preference flag; no data collection pipeline is active in this version).

A parent or guardian may use DEDOC on behalf of a child, including describing the child's symptoms to the AI Health Assistant. DEDOC does not knowingly collect account registration data directly from children.
